ALBANY, N.Y. After nearly a decade together, Jeremiah Washington and Lisa Padilla have announced their intention to marry on March 27, 2027, at Flowerfield Celebrations in St. James, New York.

The couple first met as freshmen at the University at Albany in the fall of 2015. What began as a casual acquaintance through mutual friends quickly became something neither could ignore.

The proposal took place in March 2025 at The Egg Performing Arts Center in downtown Albany, the same location as their very first date nearly nine years earlier.

Their first official outing as a couple: a walk around The Egg in downtown Albany. They took pictures, laughed at nothing, and wandered without a plan. It was a beautiful day, and neither of them knew where it was all going, but they knew they didn't want it to end.

Very on brand for Albany. They got brunch. Then he suggested they visit The Egg. When they arrived, he asked Lisa to recreate the photo she'd taken there on their first date, the one that had been her profile picture for years. She turned her back to pose. When she turned around, Jeremiah was on one knee.
